  1. Hello Nik
I couldn’t connect live yesterday evening, but I have just watched your presentation now and it was so fascinating that I watched it all the way through! There are some fantastic links and ideas here and I will try and set aside some time to try them out! I also loved the way you calmly handled the bad sound problems! Well done!

Thanks Anne. Glad you enjoyed it. I’ve had a lot of experience of online catastrophes and survived them, so these days I’m much less worried about the technical glitches.
      Thanks again.

Really enjoyed the session, thanks so much Nik

  4. This was posted on the Yahoogroups list, but I felt it was more appropriate here.

    Hello, everybody!!!

Do you know prezi? (well, sorry if it’s mentioned somewhere in the sessions, maybe I have missed it).

I just love PREZI. It’s a great tool to do presentations really more dynamic than powerpoint, because it can be non-linear and embeded videos from youtube. You must be online to show them properly, even if you download the presentation (flash format), but just if there is any video.

I did a presentation and I hope you enjoy it. I also work in a LGBT organization and one of our tasks is to fight against homophobia at schools. In the presentation, you can see some Brazilian data about this subject and the activities my organization do. There is a video, but the embeded one don’t show the subtitles in English – because I did as notes, not really as subtitles. Here the video link to see with subtitles: http://youtu.be/0ajMEO0SJHE

    And the presentation link: http://prezi.com/so1qgdoye0nz/education-activities-group-rainbow-of-lgbt-citizenship/

We did in English to show for a UNESCO group.

For Brazilian who can want to use it in school – the Portuguese version: http://prezi.com/9sbxhvirba-g/grupo-arco-iris-de-cidadania-lgbt-atividades-na-area-de-educacao/

Just one more thing: I didn’t use it, but http://www.sliderocket.com/ is other fabulous tool. Have you ever used it? What about?

  5. Another re-post, though a reply to the message above:

yep, I really do love Prezi. Been using it for two years now. For long I feel Powerpoint (even Keynote) are dying out, simply cannot be that dynamic. Felt the urge to move beyond slides, and Prezi is just that! The perfect solution.

So glad you brought it up 🙂

  6. Hi Nick,
I couldn’t join the session yesterday, but I have just watched your presentation. I really enjoyed it. Thanks a lot for all the interesting tools you shared. I have particularly liked the idea of using Scrible to develop study skills. I always struggle to find good and motivating activities for revision. I think Scrible could be a great help on that :-)!

Hi, just a question… maybe you said it in the conference and I didn’t realize but… GRAMMARLY is just working if you pay, right? I saw there’s a 7 day trial but… any other free options for teachers?
    Thanks!

  8. Nik Peachey says:

    Hi Elisenda

I’m not sure. I thought you could use Grammarly for free and the subscription and additional functionality were optional.

    Best
